THE WAVELENGTH: Amplifying the Local Radio Lives in Frequencies

"Radio has become a vital part of people’s lives from the start of the day to the end of a revolutionary era. It is considered one of the most powerful media that helps humanity to celebrate diversity and it offers an ideal platform for democratic discourse. However, despite its celebrated resiliency that fuels its sustainability, standing the test of time, it remains to face challenges of the modern and technologies, prompting a review on its accessibility everywhere and to everyone. This February 13, 2026, the world will commemorate the observance of World Radio Day 2026 with a theme that centers around the trust in radio journalism, accessibility, and radio stations viability. Highlighting the advocacy on effective and safe digital strategies and communications, the Bicol University - Movement for the Advancement of Youth-led Advocacy (BU MADYA) will be conducting an online campaign entitled, “THE WAVELENGTH: Amplifying the Local Radio Lives in Frequencies”, through an informative video presentation or vlog. Through this online campaign, both the consumers and producers of radio will gather to create compelling stories of traditional media platforms in the midst of the ever growing tempo of modernization.
